The Villa Giada Higher Education Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1990. Since then it has dedicated its energies to the study and diffusion of authentic traditional Chinese medicine, and this in direct contact with the various Chinese universities and experts of that field. Our study materials are identical to those studied in the Chinese universities themselves – translated directly from Chinese into Italian.
Our constant and continued objective focuses on the quality of the learning process – with a high emphasis of the relation between practice and theory. Our teaching body has been chosen from those who are qualified in both fields. Thanks to this we have gained respect from both our students and from those who have come to us in need and flowered thanks to the effective results of individual treatments. In this way we discreetly contribute to a widening of knowledge in the vast field of traditional Chinese medicine, and the immense human resource that such a contribution implies.
At our school it is possible to acquire a base – level theoretical comprehension of traditional Chinese medicine, and then go on to specialize in Tuina, Acupuncture, Phytotherapy and Dietology, Yangsheng, Qi gong, the Yi Jing Book of changes and Tao philosophy. In order to explore the relation of ancient wisdom with the modern humanity , five years ago we inaugurated the laboratory which goes by the name of “Taomaturgia”.
Every year we participate in an exchange programme based on educational premiums with a study grant offered by the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine which unites theory and clinical practice at the 1st University Hospital of Tianjin.
What is important today in Italy is that in 2013 a new law was enacted by the Italian government. Today as today those who work with natural health disciplines are free to operate. As far as traditional Chinese medicine is concerned this of course means that those who operate with holistic disciplines such as Tuina, Physiotherapy, Cupping, Moxa therapy and Qi-Gong – amongst various other disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, have new horizons. In fact, the essence of this law has to some extent heightened possibilities for the studying traditional Chinese medicine in Italy, and has widened the possibilities for many potential students. It represents a legal guarantee for the development of the Yangsheng techniques.
